Freaks Td Guide To Successful Tournaments

Congratulations On Becoming A Td With The Canasta Freaks And Thank You For The Commitment You Are Making. The Canasta Freaks Just Celebrated Their 6th Birthday And Couldn’t Have Done That Without Dedicated Td’s And Players.

The Freaks Require A Weekly Tournament Commitment Of:

Td’s - 3 To 5

Htd’s- 5 To 7

NOT HOSTING:

Hosts Will No Longer Be Put On Vacation Status For Not Hosting. After 20 Days They Will Be Sent An Email From Gratefulred requesting  explanation Why They Are Not Hosting.  Without Response Or a Good Reason,  They Will Be Given  30 Days to show desire to continue their hosting.  If host has not complied, they will  Then Be Removed As A Host.  We Will No Longer Put Hosts On Vacation Status.  A trainee that has not hosted a tourney within 30 days of their approval, will be dismissed.

Do not Move  a Tour To A Later Date IF you are unable to host, For No Show Tds, Or If You Don’t Have Enough Jumpers. We Delete All Of Them.  Do NOT  Remove jumpers. When tour is deleted They Will Receive An Email As To Why The Tour Was Deleted and thier ladder buxx will be returned to their account.  Please send email to all hosts, when you are deleting SAME DAY TOURNEY.  In that email, please include the reason for the deletion, the NAMES of the jumpers and the Game you are deleting.

 Is There Any Penalty For Deleting A Tournament? NO. If There Is An Issue With Your Tournament, Such As The Ladderbux Or Ladderstats Settings Being Created Incorrectly, Or If You Simply Do Not Have Enough Players To Start The Tournament, It Is Best To Delete The Tournament Instead Of Moving It. Moving A Tournament Can Occasionally Cause Our Security Software To Register A False Positive And Stop A Tournament From Running. This Is Why We Recommend Deleting Tournaments, Rather Than Moving Them

Once You Have Completed These Five Steps And Your Trainer Feels You Are Ready.  They Will Assist You In Creating Your First Tournament

 For Your First 2 Tourneys You Cannot Charge An Entry Fee So That Means No Ladder Buxs Will Be Awarded.

Sometimes A Player Or Other Td Will Offer to Gift Buxs For The Winner Of Your Tournament.  If They Do Remember To Include This In Your Spam. At The End Of The Tournament Make Sure The Person Giving The Gift Knows Who Won, And Thank Them In The Lobby.

On Your 3rd tourney you may Charge Entry Fee of up to 50 bux, Award Ladderbuxs And Can Give A Donation. Higher fees are reserved for special tourneys such as TOC OR BATTLES etc.

Any New Host Shall Set First 2 Tourney As Reg Canasta 2500 . Thereafter They May Set Any Game They Know The  Rules 100% that are included in the basic training keys.  A full set of keys will be given to all new hosts when they complete their 10th tourney.

Creating Tournaments

To Create And Run You Tourney You Will Need To Log Into The Td Center

Once You Have Logged Into The Td Center Click On Create Tournament-It Will Ask You the Type  Of Tournament/ Select Single Bracket.

 All Tds Are To Be Trained To Host In Blue Moon Tours When They Complete 10 Tours In Fgt.  If you  Have The Experience for 4 player tourneys, you may run on your 11th in Blue Moon. You Must Get Special

After Completing All The Above and after completing 20 tours in FGT hosts Can Be Trained By RED, CRICKET, LUMBEE AND ART to host Swiss And Double Elimination Tours. If Someone Else Wants To Help train for swiss or d/e Please Contact RED or ART .

Once You Have Selected The Type Of Tourney It Will Take You To The Calendar Of The Current Month. The Yellow Number On The Date Represents The Number Of Tournaments Scheduled For That Day. Click The Yellow Number Within The Day You Would Like To Host. To View Future Months, Scroll To The Bottom And Select The Month And Year You Would Like To View.

 We play 4 player doubles in Beginner Blue Moon on Tuesdays and Thrursdays from 6 PM onward and on the 2nd and 4 Saturdays per month from 12 PM onward.  The 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sundays are also set aside for 4 Player from 6 PM onward.

The Next Page Is A List Of Times For That Day. In Red Next To Times That Are Already Scheduled, You Will See The Td That Is Hosting In That Timeslot, The Number Of Rounds, The Number Of Players Per Match, The Entry Fee, The Location Where It Is Being Held. Click On The Time You Would Like To Host Your Tournament. In Fried Green Tomatoes Most Of Our Tourneys Start On The Hour...

 Pay Close Attention To The Games Scheduled For That Day We Want To Offer Our Players A Variety Of Games. You may NOT repeat the same game from 8am to 4 pm or between 4 pm to 11 pm.  You are free to  set whatever you wish from 12 AM to 7 AM.  You may even ask our night owls what they would like to play.

Now You Will Set Your Tournament.

Name Of Tournament:   Appears on top of your tourney page.  Personalize your  tour/example ~*~LAUGH IN THE EVENING~*~ or ARTS 2000th TOURNEY

GAME:  From drop down list choose CANASTA

GAME ROOM LINK:  Place the direct game room link for the room you are setting  in.

GAME FORMAT:  EXAMPLE/    FOOTBALL~5000~2/2

NUMBER OF ROUNDS:  8

MINUTES BETWEEN ROUND START TIMES:  30 (When running our tourney we allow 40 minute per round, even though we place 30 min here.  This will make for easier editing when we have to change the time we are running it.

NUMBER OF PLAYERS PER TEAM:  1

TEAMS COMPETING PER MATCH:  2  (This is only used for 4 Player Game)

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENT:  NONE

MULTIPLE DAY TOURNAMENT:  Leave unchecked

INVITATION ONLY TOURNAMENT:  Leave unchecked

LADDER STATS TOURNAMENT:  Leave CHECKED

TOC TOURNAMENT:  Leave unchecked

LADDER BUX SETTINGS:  Do NOT charge entry fee, Laddebux to top Finishers for your first two tourneys.  You may charge from 30 to  50 ladder buxx there after.

After Completing All Of The Above Double-Check That You Entered Your Settings Correctly, Then Click The “Create Tournament” Button

After Clicking Create Tourney, Click On Return To Administer Tourney With #, And That Is Your Jump # For Your Tourney

EDIT TOURNEY INFO:  You can edit information about your tourney in this option.  You can change time, date, name of tourney, donate buxx, etc. Enter your IM Service with IM Screen Names.  Be sure to save your changes by clicking CHANGE TOURNEY INFO at bottom of page.  Go view your tourney page to make sure all is correct.

CUSTOMIZE TOURNAMENT RULES:  In The Big White Box Paste Your Rules For the Game You Are Playing. Click Submit. Click Return To Administer Tourney

SEED PLAYERS:  From drop down menu, choose RANDOM then click to CHANGE SEEDING.
